Sarah Valentina Winkhaus is a woman who has always stood out — as a motorsport presenter all over the world, as a boxing reporter, as a journalist, as an entrepreneur. When she became a mother at the age of over 40, the topics of goal orientation and fitness took on a whole new meaning for her.

“I used to be about performance, about looks, about performance — today it's about staying healthy, strong and fit so that I can see my daughter for as long as possible,” explains Sarah Valentina Winkhaus. The desire for fitness used to be motivated differently. As a source of ideas and frontwoman of her own broadcast format, she was in front of the camera on a weekly basis — a performance that requires a great deal of discipline, resources and fitness. “When I feel physically fit, I am creative and can perform at a high level — that was true back then and is still true today. And the camera is also very merciless. You always look wider than you actually are,” laughs the charming woman from Düsseldorf. Today, however, the desire for fitness comes from another corner.

As a single mother, she is self-determined and without a partner. “This radically changed my focus: I not only want to be successful professionally, but also to remain strong physically and mentally. Health and longevity are stated goals in order to be present for my little daughter as long as possible. “Muscles are her best business strategy for this, says Sarah Valentina. “You pay into your health account whenever you invest in muscles. Exercised muscles can do so much more than just look good. They ensure movement, coordination, strength and mobilization, but also a functioning hormone metabolism and the immune system. Muscles counteract illnesses and have an extremely positive effect on mood and against depression and anxiety sufferers. In short — muscles instead of fatigue, muscle power instead of burnout. Muscles are real multi-talents and need to be trained. ”

Muscle training in a busy mom's everyday life

Targeted muscle training as an essential factor for a long, healthy life has thus become the focus of Sarah Valentina's training routine. I generally live in a very disciplined way, but time is also a very scarce resource for me. “As a busy mom, EasyMotionSkin gives me the opportunity to integrate training sessions into my busy everyday life. I put on the EMS suit, select a program and also do something else, such as folding laundry, scrolling emails or pushing my daughter through the park in a stroller. And in the meantime, my muscles are specifically activated with impulses. You can feel it, you can see it. It makes me happy. Well-circulated, trained muscles immediately create physical wellbeing and I am mentally satisfied because I have made the most of the time available — i.e. have completed tasks and also done something for myself. “Even after giving birth, EMS training is a wonderful opportunity to get back into shape quickly after pregnancy, according to Sarah Valentina, maximum fitness with a minimum of time. “A major feel-good advantage of this innovative EMS system is that you don't have to wet your skin like many other providers do. The suit is as comfortable to wear as a shorty and the technology works wirelessly via mobile phone or tablet. This complete flexibility is really liberating. I can combine EMS training with other sports and workouts as I please — or simply use it at home on the mat — more lying down — like after pregnancy. ”

Power through muscles and a Mediterranean diet

The Düsseldorfer's Italian roots play a role in her diet. Mediterranean food — she grew up with it as a child: Her mother always cooked vegetarian food - good oils, vegetables, fruit from the region are still in her kitchen today. “It would never occur to me to eat fruit or vegetables that are not in season. When it comes to nutrition, I pay great attention to organic quality, regionality and I try to consistently avoid chemicals and artificial additives. ”

Self-determination and self-effectiveness

Detailed information and the right decisions from the options make the decisive difference in life. “When it comes to fitness and nutrition issues, at work, in private life — that applies in general.” As a journalist, her research is in her blood. The desire for self-determination lies in their essence. That is why, as author of “Ich werde Eltern” (GU Verlag) and founder of the online academy with the “Self-Determined to Mother Happiness” course developed in Netflix style with fertility doctors and therapists, she is committed to reproductive, financial and physical self-determination. It gives women the knowledge that they have the choice to decide for themselves when and how they want to become mothers.

“I'm a senior mom and I'm more fulfilled, stronger and more powerful than ever before! I wanted and chose this luck — and as a mother, entrepreneur and athlete, I do a lot to ensure that it lasts as long as possible. ”
